Major Health Hazards: no significant risk factors have been found for this product. Potential Health Effects Inhalation: Dust may be slightly irritative to upper respiratory tract and in rare instances may cause respiratory or other microbial infections and allergies. Skin Contact: This product may irritate skin; however it is unlikely to cause more than minor discomfort such as itchiness or slight skin reddening. May cause drying of the skin if exposure is prolonged. Eye Contact: Slightly Irritative by mechanical abrasion if exposed to dust. Ingestion: May be irritating to the throat due to any dust generated or to the gastro-intestinal tract if ingested. Section 4 - First Aid Measures General Information: You should call The Poisons Information Centre if you feel that you may have been poisoned, or irritated by this product. Clear nasal and respiratory passages by encouraging patient to blow nose to ensure clear breathing passages. Rinse mouth with water. Seek immediate medical attention if irritation exists. Skin Contact: If product gets on skin, thoroughly wash contacted areas. If irritation occurs or persists, seek medical advice. Eye Contact: If product comes into contact with eyes, flush with lukewarm, gently flowing water for at least 15 minutes. In all cases of eye contamination it is a sensible precaution to seek medical advice. Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water and give some water to drink. Seek medical assistance. Advice to Doctor: Treat symptomatically, note nature of product Section 5 - Fire Fighting Measures Fire and Explosion Hazards: There is no risk of an explosion from this product under normal circumstances if it is involved in a fire. Thermal decomposition may emit toxic fumes of SO2, CO2 and P2O5. Extinguishing Media: Not Combustible. Use extinguishing media suited to burning materials. Fire Fighting: If a significant quantity of this product is involved in a fire, call the fire brigade. Flash point: Upper Flammability Limit: Does not burn. Lower Flammability Limit: Does not burn. Autoignition temperature: Not applicable - does not burn. Flammability Class: Does not burn Section 6 - Accidental Release Measures Accidental release: Minor spills do not normally need any special cleanup measures. In the event of a major spill, prevent spillage from entering drains or water courses. Wear protective clothing including impervious gloves and safety goggles. All skin should be covered. Thoroughly launder protective clothing before storage or re-use. Stop leak if safe to do so, and contain spill. Sweep up and shovel or collect recoverable product into labelled containers for recycling or salvage, and dispose of promptly. If a significant quantity of material enters drains, advise emergency services. Refer to product label for specific instructions. Full details regarding disposal of used containers, spillage and unused material may be found on the label. If there is any conflict between this SDS and the label, instructions on the label prevail. Ensure legality of disposal by consulting regulations prior to disposal. This product may be suitable for disposal in land fill. Section 7 - Handling and Storage Handling: When dusts are generated, check Section 8 of this SDS for details of personal protective measures, and make sure that those measures are followed. The measures detailed below under "Storage" should be followed during handling in order to minimise risks to persons using the product in the workplace. Also, avoid contact or contamination of product with incompatible materials listed in Section 10. Storage: Keep away from extreme heat and open flames in a well ventilated, dry space. Make sure that the product does not come into contact with substances listed under "Incompatibilities" in Section 10. Check packaging - there may be further storage instructions on the label. Section 8 - Exposure Controls and Personal Protection Exposure Limits: TWA (mg/m3) STEL (mg/m3) ADI (mg/Kg/day) NOEL (mg/Kg/day) Exposure limits have not been set for any of the ingredients in this product. The exposure value at the TWA is the average airborne concentration of a particular substance when calculated over a normal 8 hour working day for a 5 day working week. A TWA has not been established by Worksafe Australia for any other of the major ingredients in this product. There is a blanket limit of 10mg/m3 for dusts or mists when limits have not otherwise been established. The STEL (Short Term Exposure Limit) is an exposure value that should not be exceeded for more than 15 minutes and should not be repeated for more than 4 times per day. There should be at least 60 minutes between successive exposures at the STEL. The nature of this product makes it unlikely that this level will be approached in normal use.
